On January 24, 2020, the Eagles Foundation for Humanity celebrated the power of literacy and education through its Read2Lead Initiative. This impactful project was designed to promote reading culture among students and foster leadership skills through knowledge acquisition. The foundation marked this occasion by donating books and establishing book clubs in three schools across Nigeria:
- Oyun Local Government Grammar School, Ilemona, Kwara State
- Government Secondary School, Bakin Ado, Nassarawa State
- Government Girls Secondary School, Yabo, Sokoto State
The Read2Lead initiative emphasized the importance of education as a transformative tool for personal and societal growth. The book clubs were established to provide students with a platform to exchange ideas, develop critical thinking skills, and cultivate a lifelong love for reading. Each school received a carefully curated collection of books, spanning academic subjects, inspirational literature, and creative fiction, to broaden the horizons of young minds.
Through this initiative, the foundation sought to empower students by inspiring them to take ownership of their education and recognize the role of knowledge in leadership. The creation of book clubs also encouraged collaborative learning, mentorship, and peer-to-peer engagement, fostering a supportive environment for intellectual and personal development. The Read2Lead project aligns with the Eagles Foundation for Humanity’s core mission to invest in education and nurture the next generation of leaders. By addressing gaps in access to educational resources and creating opportunities for continuous learning, the foundation demonstrated its commitment to building a brighter future for young Nigerians.
