Fondly known as Hajia KemKem , Ms Kemi Rahma Asekun is an ace broadcaster with nearly two decades of experience in radio. She began her career at the Lagos State Broadcasting Service, quickly rising to anchor the station’s flagship program, Lagos This Morning, succeeding Kayode Akintemi within just two years. Her talent and versatility later took her to TopRadio, where she adopted the radio name Azaria and connected deeply with the youth through shows that inspired candid discussions about their hopes, dreams, and challenges.

Throughout her career, Kemi has excelled in a wide array of radio formats, including current affairs, youth-focused programming, emotional counseling shows, and even radio dramas. She is known for her advocacy of patriotism, urging Nigerians to engage in nation-building and active participation in politics. In 2010, she led by example, joining the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) at their headquarters in Ikeja.

Driven by her passion to combat misinformation, Kemi launched the #NaijaPatriotReport hashtag and podcast in 2019, encouraging citizens to report positive developments around them and to project a brighter image of Nigeria. This initiative has inspired a wave of patriotic engagement among Nigerians, highlighting the nation’s achievements.

Kemi has interviewed numerous high-profile personalities, including Mr. Dele Alake, the current Special Adviser to the President on Communications, Strategy, and Special Duties, along with ministers and members of the National Assembly. She is recognized for her unwavering belief that the best of Nigeria lies in the potential of its people—a narrative she continues to promote daily through her Twitter handle, @Kempatriot, echoing the messages she has championed on air.

With a voice that captivates, a mind well-read, and a heart full of empathy, Kemi is also passionate about singing, reading, writing, voice acting, and music. Her long-term ambition is to own her own television talk show and radio station, a dream she works towards daily.

Currently serving as the Special Assistant to the Honourable Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Kemi remains dedicated to her mission of showcasing Nigeria in the best possible light.

Kemi Asekun hails from Ijebu-Igbo in Ijebu North Local Government Area, Ogun State, and resides in Lagos, Nigeria.
