Eagles Foundation donates books to Kwara school

Non-governmental organization, Eagles Foundation For Humanity, has donated books to Oyun Local Government Secondary school, Ilemona, Kwara State.

During a visit to the state-owned school, Eagles Foundation delivered sensitization lecture to the students before giving out the books by renowned authors in prose, science, history, self development and financial intelligence.

According to the organization’s CEO, Anifowose Titilope, She said their mission is to eradicate poverty of mind in youths “because readers are leaders and to prepare them for the highly competitive labour market”.

Anifowose who was represented by the state cordinator, Jimoh Arafat proposed a book club session in the school’s schedule which would hold every Thursdays and Fridays with four teachers acting as supervisors.

She further said they intend to organize competition between the beneficiary schools occasionally to evaluate the students skills.

On their part, the students expressed enthusiasm about the book club, saying such program will encouraged them “to make reading a lifestyle”.

The principal of the school, Mr Odewale O.O expressed gratitude to the foundation for their selfless service, “promising to put in their capacities to further the development of the club so that it will keep growing and not experience retrogression”.
